Carrie M. Mitchell Home
925 W. Highland Avenue
c.1902

The property upon which the residence at 925 W. Highland Avenue now stands was originally owned by E.G. Judson and his wife, Ella. In 1902 the Judsons sold the property to Miss Carrie M. Mitchell. Soon afterward the house was built.

The exterior of the two-story home is an interesting combination of novelty siding and cedar shingles. A large porch complete with support columns extends across much of the front and side. Leaded glass windows are present throughout the house, some original and many newly designed and built by the present owner.

The house contains thirteen rooms, including four bedrooms and two bathrooms. The main floor boasts a self-contained apartment. Among other interesting features are a bay window, window seats, built-in china cupboard, and an ornate open staircase.

The home has been enjoyed by many families and is currently cared for by Bob and Suann Edwards and their four children.
