D. Holsten Home
671 W. Cypress Avenue
1901

D. Holsten had this residence built in 1901 for his wife, Margareth. Mr. Holsten was retired and had come to Redlands because of his poor health.

The house is two stories tall and contained eight rooms, one bath tub, two water closets, and one “toilet in use.” The house had, and still has, a very large lawn.

A previous house built on this site in the early 1890’s was used as a boarding house by a Mrs. A. F. Burk. The Fairchild family are the current occupants.
