Monday, Sept. 24, 2018 Program: “The History of Preservation in Redlands”

Our new president, Steve Spiller will be the program speaker for the Monday, September 24, 2018 program. Steve prepared a paper for the Fortnightly Club which documents the story of Historic Preservation in Redlands throughout the City’s history. Steve chronicles how instrument the Historical Society in establishing the City’s Historic Preservation program some 40+ years ago.

Steve recently retired as the executive director of the Mission Inn Museum in Riverside. He has been a member of the Historical Society’s Board of Directors for many years. He also has served on the Museum of Redlands Board and the Board of the California Preservation Foundation. Steve grew up in Redlands and got his undergraduate degree from Middleberry College in Vermont, and his masters degree from the University of California, Riverside.

The meeting will be held in the Contemporary Club building located at 175 S. Eureka Street starting at 7:00 p.m. The Society’s meetings are free and open to the public.
