The Redlands Area Historical Society’s program for January is “Hollywood in Our Hills” on Wednesday, January 28, at 7:00 p.m. at the Redlands Contemporary Club.

RAHS Board member and author, Shannon Wray will review the early connection our are had with Hollywood. 

From the inception of the Southern California film industry, Redlands and the San Bernardino mountains were popular locations for early filmmakers, usch as Cecil B. DeMille, William Wyler, and D.W. Griffiths. She will explore some of the industry-defining silent ear films made in and around our mountains beginning as early as 1910, from Westerns to Mountie movies to melodramas, and epics, such as the Birth of a Nation, and The Eyes of the World.

The program is open to the public will begin at 7:00 p.m.
