What does a seaside street in Santa Barbara, Tiffany & Co., and a Heritage Award-winning house have in common? Join the Redlands Area Historical Society on Monday, April 24 to hear John P. Beall, a board member of the Redlands Area Historical Society, offer a view of Gilded Age Redlands and Redlanders through the life of Katherine Campbell Meigs, whose once prominent name is today perhaps only known to few. John Paul will show a collection of \u00a0antique photos, society column stories, legendary Redlands socials, beautiful gardens, and more about the Marvelous Mrs. Meigs in the fun and philanthropy of Redlands. Given Mrs. Meigs\u2019 early involvement in the horticultural movement of our town, a special welcome to the membership of the Redlands Horticultural & Improvement Society is given.<\/p>\n

John Paul is a native of Redlands. During his school years at he was a founding member of the Redlands Junior Historical Society. He then went on to get degrees at Washington-Lee and Georgetown University. Presently, he is researching and preparing the nomination papers for National Registration of the Asistencia property.<\/p>\n
