E. P. Rawle Home
1135 Center Street
1904
In August of 1904 E.P. Rawle hired Redlands builder D.M. Donald to build a thirteen-room, one-story residence. The structure was built of wood, stone, and brick at a cost of $6500. The home which Mr. Rawle built is a charming brown shingled craftsman-style bungalow at 1135 Center Street.
The house is characterized by swept-dormer windows and the many diamond-shaped windows add to it attractiveness. Still standing at the front of the house is the original white picket fence. Nestled-in a park-like setting and amongst orange trees, the house is surrounded by original English gardens. A two-manger stable for horses is still standing on the property.
The present owners of the property are Mr. and Mrs. Trevor Davidson. Their care and affection bestowed upon the house is evident.
