Mr. Theron Hayward, a bookkeeper at Newberry, Hayward, and Barrows, purchased this property in the Smiley Addition in March of 1900. This seven-room, one-and-one half story home was built later that year.
The home features a decorative pediment over the porch steps with a dormer above the porch roof pediment. There is a high hipped roof with a brick chimney. There are six Doric columns. The home has four-sided and three-sided bay windows and “Pingboard” siding.
